Yash Reddi is a student at Harrow International School, Bengaluru, with a strong interest in applying mathematics and economics to sustainable entrepreneurship. This interest led him to participate in New York University’s summer school programme on Entrepreneurship and Business Start-ups, where he explored how entrepreneurs develop ventures that address real-world challenges. Inspired by this experience, Yash founded WasteMatters, a community-driven initiative focused on tackling waste through greater awareness, responsible disposal, and collective environmental action. The project reflects his interest in combining entrepreneurial thinking with practical solutions to sustainability challenges.
Yash has further explored his interest in sustainability through independent research. His paper, From Informal to Impactful: Role of Social Enterprises in Transforming Solid Waste Management in India, examined how social enterprises can strengthen waste management systems while supporting informal waste workers. The paper was published in the International Journal of Social Science and Economic Research (IJSSER) in July 2026.
Beyond academics, Yash is a trained drummer with distinctions across Trinity Rock & Pop examinations. He plays football as a striker, has trained in kickboxing for six years, and has pursued swimming for nine years, consistently securing top-two finishes in school tournaments since 2024.
